WORKING RANCH HOLIDAYS
NEW FOR 2026!

experience life on a real
working cattle ranch

We are excited to offer the opportunity for parties of four to come and experience life
on a real working cattle ranch – a taste of Yellowstone right here in the UK!

This will be a fully guided experience
with Joe Midgely

You will learn the skills and techniques necessary for handling cattle. This is a rare opportunity to ride well schooled and talented horses doing the job they were trained for, both in open country and in the arena.

The schedule will be flexible depending on the weather and what jobs might need to be done around the ranch but you can expect to ride 4-6 hours a day.

A typical week might look like this:

Monday

Arrive around lunchtime and check into accommodation before meeting the horses at the barn and saddling up for an arena session followed by a trail ride round the farm.

Tuesday-Thursday

Saddle after breakfast, load up and head out to check stock and assist with whatever cattle handling might be necessary that day.

Re-group after lunch for an afternoon in the arena, this might include practicing some cow horse manoeuvres, working the flag or roping the dummy.

FRIDAY

Final ride and chuck wagon breakfast out in the pasture before checking out at lunchtime.

This will be on a self catering basis with the option to book one of our dining experiences:

Book a Chuck wagon breakfast

Having saddled up early for morning cattle check you’ll ride back to the pickup, hitch up the horses and enjoy an authentic cowboy breakfast cooked over open fire with a freshly brewed coffee.

Book a Dinner round the campfire

Having freshened up you’ll be collected from the accommodation for either a woodland or lakeside dinner, an opportunity to taste some of the home grown beef you’ve been tending all week.

Book a Private chef

There is an option to book a private chef for your stay, catering some or all of your meals. The menu will be tailored to your tastes and include home reared beef and other local produce.

Prices start from £2000 per person, accommodation included
